Who we are
Al-Qamar Islamic Research Institute (AQIRI) is an academic research and publishing institution working in Islamic Studies and related fields.
Established in 2014, the Institute supports research, scholarly publication, academic training, and specialised services for researchers and institutions. Its work is concerned both with the study of the Islamic scholarly tradition and with contemporary questions in religion, society, law, ethics, education, history, and intellectual life.
AQIRI works with researchers, authors, editors, teachers, students, and academic institutions to support serious scholarship, responsible publication, and sustained academic engagement.

Objectives
To support serious research in Qur'anic Studies, Hadith, Seerah, Islamic law, Islamic thought, Muslim history and civilisation, ethics, comparative religion, and related areas of the humanities and social sciences.
To publish and support journals, books, monographs, edited volumes, translations, research reports, and other academic works through established editorial and review procedures.
To encourage research on contemporary religious, intellectual, social, ethical, legal, educational, and cultural questions from informed academic perspectives.
To provide researchers with training, supervision, fellowships, workshops, and specialised academic services that strengthen research, writing, editing, and publication skills.
To uphold sound research methods, responsible peer review, editorial accountability, proper citation, research integrity, and ethical publication practice.
To develop academic relationships with scholars, universities, research centres, journals, publishers, and other institutions, and to support wider access to scholarly work.
Institute Administration
Al-Qamar Islamic Research Institute is governed through a clear structure of academic leadership, institutional oversight, and administrative management.
The Institute’s governing and executive offices are responsible for maintaining academic direction, coordinating institutional priorities, and supporting the effective conduct of AQIRI’s research, publishing, training, and scholarly activities.
The Board of Governors provides overall institutional oversight and strategic guidance to Al-Qamar Islamic Research Institute. It considers matters of academic policy, institutional development, governance, scholarly standards, and long-term priorities, and supports the Institute in maintaining responsible and consistent academic practice.

It provides direction for the Institute’s research agenda, publications, academic programmes, scholarly initiatives, and institutional development, while coordinating major priorities across the Institute.

It supports the implementation of institutional decisions and oversees official correspondence, records, documentation, scheduling, internal coordination, and other administrative processes required for the effective functioning of AQIRI.

Academic Programmes
AQIRI offers selected programmes for scholars, graduates, researchers, and professionals seeking advanced study, research development, and specialist academic training in Islamic Studies and related fields.
The programmes combine independent study with appropriate academic guidance and are designed around clearly defined scholarly outcomes, including research papers, extended studies, manuscripts, and other forms of academic work.
AQIRI’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme provides recent PhD graduates and qualified scholars with an institutional setting in which to develop a focused programme of postdoctoral research.
Fellows work under academic supervision on an approved research project in Islamic Studies or a related field. Depending on the nature of the project, the work may lead to research articles, a substantial study, a monograph, translation, critical edition, or other scholarly output.
The fellowship is intended to support sustained independent research, academic development, and scholarly publication during the fellowship period.

Designed for graduates, researchers, teachers, and other suitably qualified participants, the programmes may combine taught sessions, supervised reading, written assignments, research exercises, and a substantial final piece of academic work.
Diplomas are offered in defined areas of study and are intended for participants seeking deeper subject knowledge or stronger skills in research, scholarly writing, and academic practice.
