The Editorial and Acquisitions Department serves as the first academic gateway of the publishing process. It is responsible for receiving, identifying, evaluating, and developing scholarly content for publication, including books, journals, monographs, edited volumes, translations, and research-based works.
The department manages manuscript acquisition, book proposals, journal submissions, editorial planning, author communication, academic screening, and coordination with editors, reviewers, editorial boards, and contributors. It ensures that each submitted or commissioned work aligns with the academic scope, publishing standards, ethical requirements, and scholarly objectives of the institute.
Core Responsibilities
Receives manuscripts, book proposals, journal submissions, edited volume proposals, translations, and other academic projects, maintaining the first record of acquired material.
Determines whether submissions fit the academic scope, publication policy, ethical requirements, language standards, and general scholarly quality.
Communicates with authors, editors, contributors, and academic advisors regarding requirements, missing information, revisions, observations, and documentation.
Supports selected manuscripts before production through coordination of structure, scope, academic focus, documentation, and publication readiness.
Coordinates with board members, reviewers, subject specialists, and academic contributors when expert opinion or scholarly evaluation is required.
Prepares internal notes, records, recommendations, and submission details before a manuscript or proposal moves to the next publishing stage.
